Earthscapes
Seen from above, the landscape attracts me profoundly, because the elements of it's composition, together with the imprints left by those who live within it, transform into something different.
The signs that man create through working the land, the flowing rivers and rows of trees, where roads become geometrical lines, and fields transform into watercolours.
From this gigantic natural canvas I select fragments that bring joy and excitement to my eye.
The tracks left by tractor wheels in a ploughed field, an enormous pool of water on irrigated land or the country lanes that cross them, take on a new meaning in the final image. Where a river bed can be mistaken for an oil on canvas, if not from close inspection, where one can distinguish the flowing water.
The combination of lines, forms, colour and texture are a portion of the world that I travel through each day, searching for new ways of observing, allowing it to continuously astound and amaze me.
Visto dall’alto il paesaggio mi attrae profondamente perché gli elementi che lo compongono, insieme alle tracce degli esseri che ci vivono, assumono una valenza diversa.
I segni che lascia l’uomo con il lavoro nei campi , il passaggio dei fiumi, gli alberi, le strade diventano linee grafiche, geometrie, acquerelli .
In questa macro-tela seleziono ciò che mi provoca eccitazione e gioia per gli occhi.
Le tracce di pneumatico sul terreno arato, un’enorme macchia d’acqua di un campo irrigato, la stradina che lo attraversa, assumono un nuovo significato nell’immagine finale. Così anche il greto del fiume è confondibile con un acquerello, se non fosse che, con più attenzione, si può intravvedere l’acqua che scorre al centro.
La combinazione di linee, forme, colori e texture sono una porzione del mondo che percorro ogni giorno e di cui necessito ogni giorno lasciarmi affascinare.
